Street Fighter II′ – Hyper Fighting, known in Japan as Street Fighter II Dash Turbo (ストリートファイターⅡダッシュターボ) ,officially promoted as Street Fighter II′ Turbo – Hyper Fighting was released because many arcade operators has been installing unathorized modified versions of Street Fighter II′ – Champion Edition which allowed the game to be played at a faster speed and with new moves. Street Fighter II′ Turbo – Hyper Fighting in response, had faster gameplay speed and new special techniques such as Chun-Li’s Kikoken and Dhalsim’s Yoga Teleport. All characters now had a new colour scheme which became their default and their old colour scheme became the secondary (Only M.Bison kept his original red colour scheme as his deault.)
