The big announcement from Ono at Comic-Con was that 2 games are going to be made, Street Fighter X Tekken (made by Capcom) and Tekken X Street Fighter (made by Namco). Street Fighter X Tekken is going to be built using the SF4 engine and it’s likely that Tekken X Street Fighter will be based on the Tekken 6 engine. At Comic-Con it was announced that a new online version of Street Fighter 3 Third Strike is, there is currently no release date as Ono says they want to take their time to do it right, new features will be added and fans’ ideas will be taken into account.
The upcoming arcade version of Super Street Fighter 4 recently went on location test in Tokyo and the character select screen reveals 2 extra character slots.
There have been many signs that any additions to the arcade version will come as free or paid downloadable content in the console versions. Hopefully soon the 2 characters will be revealed. Zangief will be coming to the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV in a free update, as a thank you from Capcom. Justin Wong, regarded as the top US SSFIV player & entertaining top player Martin “Marn” Phan, have been invited to the upcoming Electronic Sports World Cup to compete in Street Fighter IV to represent US. Unfortunately they have to have tickets by the 11th of June and cannot afford to go. As a favour to Justin, Marn has set up a paypal account for donations so that Justin can hopefully get there. It should be noted that everyone’s donation will be refunded if either Justin wins the tournament or not enough money is raised in time. It was the best out of 5 and it went the distance…Both of them had times of domination with Justin even managing a perfect, but even more shocking was when Daigo looked to be winning easily in the final round until Just came back and it ended in a double K.O! It was the craziest thing I’ve seen and they will have to wait until Evo to settle this. Marvel vs Capcom 3 is now 100% confirmed and here is a trailer to show it. Having a Street Fighter 4 save on your system will unlock you something special. It unlocks 2 extra colours, colour 11 is an ink effect that was present in the PC version of Street Fighter IV.
